Mansion Of The Doomed (1976) Available March 8

Screaming out of 1976, Charles Band’s Mansion Of The Doomed stands as one of the most lurid and unsettling exploitation films of all time, presented here for the first time uncut, restored and remastered in HD from the original 35mm negative! Richard Basehart (being there, tvs voyage to the bottom of the sea) stars as the maniacal Dr. Leonard Chaney, a brilliant surgeon who compulsively kidnaps people and rips out their eyeball, dumping their bleeding bodies into a filthy basement cage. His master plan? To use these ill-gotten orbs and transplant them into the skull of his daughter, who herself was blinded in a tragic accident years before. Taking its cues from Georges Franju’s notorious 1960 French shocker Eyes Without A Face but careening off in wild, gruesome new directions, Mansion Of The Doomed (aka The Eyes Of Dr. Chaney and House Of Blood) is producer and Full Moon founder Band’s first horror film (and is listed as #1 in the Full Moon catalog) and also features an early co-starring role from future genre icon Lance Henriksen (Aliens) as well as a memorable performance from Hollywood legend Gloria Grahame (Oklahoma!, Blood And Lace) as Chaney’s complicit nurse. The Island Of The Fishmen (1979) Available March 8

Taking its narrative cues from H.G. Wells’ classic tale of mad science and jungle madness the island of dr. Moreau and H.P. Lovecraft’s The Shadow Over Innsmouth, director Sergio (Torso) Martino’s delirious and bizarre Island Of The Fishmen (aka L’isola degli uomini pesce) is an Italian genre film like no other. After surviving two harrowing nautical disasters, Lieutenant Claude de Ross washes up on a remote, uncharted tropical island along with a gaggle of similarly stranded escaped convicts. Soon, the cursed castaways are attacked by gruesome, slimy, scaly monsters and, after many of them meet their grisly ends, the rest – including the fortunate de Ross – are rescued by the cruel Rackham who immediately whisks them away to the jungle lair of Professor Ernest Marvin. Marvin, a disgraced American biologist, has tampered with genetics to create an army of fishmen, the very same creatures that attacked de Ross. Professor Marvin controls the creatures and has been using them to plunder a submerged city of gold that he believes to be the lost city of Atlantis. But the natives are restless and the fishmen are slowly, surely beginning to hatch their own plans. Will de Ross – along with the professor’s comely daughter – find away to escape the island before its too late? Starring iconic actors Joseph Cotton (Citizen Kane), Richard Johnson (The Haunting, Zombie) and comely Bond girl Barbara Bach (The Spy Who Loved Me), Island Of The Fishmen was originally released twice to American theaters in the early ’80s via Roger Corman’s New World pictures, first as Something Waits In The Dark and later, in a radically altered version under the notorious and misleading title Screamers. But Martino’s magnum opus has rarely been seen on these shores the way in which he intended. Full Moon is thrilled to be presenting Island Of The Fishmen here for the first time in North America in its completely uncut original form, gorgeously remastered in HD from the original 35mm negative.

STARRING: Claudio Cassinelli, Beryl Cunningham, Richard Johnson, Barbara Bach

Savage Harvest (1994) Available January 25

Determined to atone for the suffering brought upon his people during the Trail of Tears, a Cherokee elder engaged in dark magic to summon an ancient demon entity known as Retlawkoob. When the tribe awoke to find their bountiful harvest turned into rows of useless stone, they buried the elder in the fields beneath a pile of the cursed rocks; each of which bore the mark of a different bestial demon. After a flood causes the stones to resurface, six teenagers camping on the burial site unsuspectingly unleash the demonic forces. Possession consumes one camper after another, transforming them into animalistic, frenzied killing machines, voraciously feeding on the warm meat of their freshly deceased victims. As the body count grows, only the timid Mikki is left to unlock the riddles left behind by the elders and do battle with the vengeful demon Retlawkoob. Now, only bloodshed, violence, and terror grow in these darkened fields…and tonight the harvest begins.

St. Louis, Missouri based writer / director Eric Stanze (The Scare Game, Scrapbook, Ratline) made major waves in the underground with this ambitious, Native American themed, Evil Dead-style demonic possession romp filmed against the backdrop of the Great Flood of 1993; a real life debilitating disaster that devastated parts of the American Midwest. Elaborate practical effects, extreme chainsaw violence, a memorable monster, and some genuine atmospheric scares helped put Savage Harvest on the map and cemented Stanze’s status as one of the most consistent and visionary auteurs working in the shot on video horror medium.

THE WORLDWIDE DISC PREMIERE OF THE LOST AMERICAN FOLK HORROR CLASSIC

In 1983, acclaimed photographer Avery Crounse made his debut as writer/director with what is considered to be the seminal American folk horror film. Dennis Lipscomb (Retribution), Guy Boyd (Body Double) and Kerry Sherman (Satan’s Cheerleaders) star in this ”extraordinary horror fantasy” (The Psychotronic Video Guide) restored in 4K from the original negative with more than 2½ hours of Special Features that include the answer print of Crounse’s original cut, Crying Blue Sky.

One of the very first Section 2 Video Nasties, this longtime VHS rarity – also known as Psycho Puppet – is now presented on disc for the first time ever, restored from the only known 35mm print in existence.

Censor (2021) Available January 25

Enid Baines, a film screener at the BBFC, has earned an unsavory reputation for being the organization’s strictest censors of violent films. Unexpectedly, Enid is contacted by Frederick North, a notorious director of exceptionally brutal, low budget horror movies, who has requested that she personally review his work for classification. While viewing one of North’s films, Enid is struck by its narrative similarities to the disappearance of her own sister years earlier. But when she finds another of North’s films which stars a woman who bares a striking resemblance to her sister, Enid’s life begins spiraling out of control, sending her on a mysterious and terrifying journey into the dark and violent recesses of her past. The acclaimed feature film directing debut of Prano Bailey-Bond, Censor is a scathing indictment of Britain’s notorious Video Nasty era, imagined as a horror film that’s every bit as brutal and twisted as the Nasties themselves. Exquisitely photographed on 35mm by Annika Summerson and featuring an electrifying score by Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch, Vinegar Syndrome Pictures proudly presents Censor in its Blu-ray debut, with extensive bonus features including Bailey-Bond’s earlier short film, Nasty.
