On a small Midwestern college campus, female coeds are being hacked to pieces in a rash of gruesome slayings dubbed the “sorority house murders.” In each case, a body part is removed from the victim and a golden amulet bearing a dog’s head left on the corpse, leading Sheriff Wilbois to suspect the involvement of a canine god-worshiping “blood cult.” Determined to put an end to the carnage, the sheriff, with the aid of his daughter and her boyfriend Joel, sets about attempting to stop the blood cult before it succeeds in its grisly aims.

Marketed as the first movie made specifically for the home video market, 1985’s Blood Cult marked the first collaboration between husband and wife directing/producing duo Christopher and Linda Lewis and Tulsa-based executive producer Bill F. Blair, who together would go on to produce the Tom Savini-starring The Ripper as well as Revenge, the 1986 sequel to Blood Cult. Featuring copious scenes of gratuitous machete mutilation, Degausser Video is delighted to present this classic of the shot-on-video era – which famously publicized itself as having been “banned from two Midwestern campuses” – restored from its original master tape alongside a host of new and archival extras.

In Living a Zombie Dream, a man discovers his brother is having an illicit affair with his girlfriend. After a heated confrontation, he witnesses his brother being captured and disemboweled by a flesh-eating psychopath. After murdering the maniac, he begins suffering from violent and perplexing hallucinations. Both his brother and the killer return from the dead amidst a horde of zombies and their desire to consume the flesh and blood of the living soon compels the man to follow in their footsteps. A Lynchian, analog meditation on life and death rife with shocking gore, bleeding handguns, and static filled TV sets, Reynolds’ arresting debut feature boldly bears the hallmarks of both an experimental art film and a homespun SOV zombie gore epic.

In Kitty Killers, a gang of eccentric, working class hitmen are ordered to torture and hold hostage the duplicitous business rivals of their psychotic, wheelchair-bound boss Mr. Hill. Things go haywire once the junior hitman falls for an innocent coffee shop poet named Kitty and his rampant narcissism leads to a chaotic crossroads of exploding squib hits, zen meditation, human flesh tic-tac-toe, and gluttonous doughnut consumption. A hyperviolent, post-Tarantino crime caper with self-reflective, transcendental underpinnings, Kitty Killers remains a potent illustration of Reynolds’ idiosyncratic approach to genre storytelling.

Within minutes of Lola’s arrival, the city of LA goes into a vague, mysterious lockdown with not much information for anyone other than the occasional police message from a circling helicopter. As the city keeps everyone inside, a packet of seeds arrives from the outside with no label and no answers. Curiosity gets the best of a locked down Lola so she plants the seeds and waits. What follows is a hypnotic journey down a psychedelic-juice-covered rabbit hole as reality bends and the three must grapple with the ever-changing landscape. While Lou is warped out of this world and Cage is turning violent, Lola is trapped in the middle. All culminating into a twisted, bloody affair in which she must fight to survive her own creation. With a heart-pounding, electric-synth score reminiscent of classic John Carpenter this film will rock your senses, leaving you with a sense that there is more to this world than meets the eye.
