In addition to working on film projects that have received global distribution, he also has also served for years as a law-enforcement officer in his home state, and often draws upon real-world experiences for inspiration. He is an actor, director, producer, and writer, known primarily for his work in the independent horror genre, and has won numerous awards for acting as well as directing.
Colin Cunningham:
Veteran actor Colin Cunningham has starred as ‘John Pope’ in the Steven Spielberg-Dreamworks produced series Falling Skies, as T.C. in AMC’s Preacher, and as the infamous Julian Slink in Universal’s Blood Drive. He has been nominated for three Best Actor Canadian Film Awards (Canada’s Oscar) and nominated for 11 Best Actor Leo Awards (Canada’s Emmy – he won three.) Currently co-starring in Kevin Costner’s 4 part saga, Horizon, Cunningham’s work has been recognized by The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, TIME magazine and Rolling Stone.
Jessica Staples:
Having dabbled around working as an extra since the age of 12 (for a mini TV series, Asteroid and again in her 20’s for Hawaii 5-0). Jessica continued to pursue acting in the independent film circuit in Utah, and has received numerous accolades, awards, and nominations for her work in various roles. In addition to actively working as crew on both local productions, and large-scale works (like the upcoming Horizon Saga from Kevin Costner), Jessica spends much of her time working to find homes for rescue animals in her local community.
Sean Hunter:
Having pursued acting from a very young age, Sean used it as a means to deal with childhood anxiety, and before long was winning multiple acting awards at Region and State Drama competitions. He began to work on short films in high school, and further developed his skills as he was cast in multiple supporting roles in both film and theater. Seans passion and drive has always set him apart from the competition, and he continues to pursue acting in all its forms. He is known for his work in both Utah-based film and multiple independent horror productions.
Charla Bocchicchio:
Charla Bocchicchio is a busy working actress and acting coach based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has won numerous acting awards over the years, has appeared in multiple Hallmark films, and co-starred in The Chosen, Yellowstone, Blood & Oil, and Mosaic. Charla adores doing comedy and improvisation, having trained at UCB in LA. She has enjoyed working on many successful long form internet ads and is a published author of her memoir, My New Normal which chronicles her first year of surviving after losing her only daughter to a fentanyl overdose in 2016. Certainly no stranger to loss or tragedy, in 2023, she also lost the love of her life, her husband John. Self-described as mindfully grateful and wildly blessed, Charla now lives in Salt Lake City with her adorable golden-doodle, Zoey.
David McMahon:
David E. McMahon is the diverse actor behind many unique, unforgettable and often bizarre characters. With a background in theater, he is most often seen today in over 100 short and feature-length films, ranging from horror to comedy and practically everything in between. David has received numerous nominations and awards for his array of roles, and continues to seek out projects that are not just wild and wacky, but that push boundaries and allow him to grow and expand as an actor . One of his earliest short films, the rap-filled Gynecologist: The Musical quickly became a funny or Die comedy classic and continues to draw fans on YouTube. He also recently starred in the LGBTQ+, mid-life romance, A Wonderful Life. When not acting, David works as an advertising writer, living in Connecticut with his wife, Betsy, and their two four-legged children.
Will McAllister:
Will is a big fan of telling stories. Working together with a group of dedicated people to create a character and help tell a tale — there is just nothing else like it. Some of Will’s recent roles include Harpo Hart in Kirby Saxton’s miniseries Four Kings, Farmer McGregor in Cherie Julander’s Beatrix Potter Must Die, and the Pale Face Killer in Witching Season Films’ most recent feature, He Never Left. Will is massively grateful to his wife, Zel, for being ever-supportive as he runs about from film shoot to film shoot in order to scratch his storytelling itch.
Jake Watters:
A long-time collaborator and friend of Witching Season Films founder, Michael Ballif, Jake’s recent pursuit of acting took off during the production of the independent film They Live Inside Us, which was shot at his historic Booth House in Nephi, Utah. A true collector of all things history, Jake also worked as a World War 2 reenactor on the hit film Saints and Soldiers, and has continued to both his historical and artistic pursuits in recent years.
