Eight people went to sleep inside a small Iowa farmhouse. By morning, every one of them was dead — and whoever killed them had vanished.
On June 9, 1912, the Moore family returned home from church with two young sisters staying the night. Hours later, all eight were murdered with an axe. The crime scene was bizarre: faces covered, mirrors concealed, a lamp deliberately dimmed, and a slab of raw bacon left in the downstairs bedroom.
More than a century later, the killer has never been identified. But the house is still standing — restored to almost exactly how it looked that night.
And people who spend the night there say the murders may not be the only thing that never left.
