Instead, I wanted to focus on some of the questions you’ve been asking me: What happens when an execution fails? Can the state try again? Does every executed inmate receive an autopsy? What happens after they’re declared dead? Does the funeral home pick them up right away? Can an inmate pre-plan their own funeral? And can they still have a funeral or an open-casket viewing?
Because even after an execution… somebody still has to call the funeral home.
