She blindfolded her husband for a GAME… then STABBED HIM IN THE CHEST. But somehow, that wasn’t even the craziest part of the Sheila Davalloo case.
Because while her husband was fighting for his life, he had absolutely NO IDEA his wife had already murdered another woman.
Sheila Davalloo appeared to have a perfectly ordinary life. She was married to Paul Christos, worked in the pharmaceutical industry and had developed an increasingly complicated relationship with her colleague, Nelson Sessler.
There was just one problem.
Nelson was involved with another woman — Anna Lisa Raymundo.
And Sheila had absolutely no intention of letting that relationship stand in her way.
What followed was one of the most bizarre and calculated love-triangle murder cases in American true crime.
Sheila began telling her husband elaborate stories about a supposed friend named Melissa, her complicated relationships and a woman called Anna Lisa. Paul listened, offered advice and became increasingly involved in the drama his wife was describing.
Except Sheila wasn’t simply gossiping about somebody else’s love life.
She was constructing an extraordinary web of deception around her own affair, obsession and jealousy.
Then, in November 2002, 32-year-old Anna Lisa Raymundo was brutally murdered inside her Stamford, Connecticut home. She had been stabbed repeatedly, and investigators were left searching for the person responsible.
For months, the case remained unsolved.
Meanwhile, Sheila continued her marriage to Paul. But in March 2003, she suggested they play a game involving a blindfold and a knife.
Paul agreed.
His wife then stabbed him in the chest.
And when he survived, Sheila attempted to convince him that what had happened was an accident.
But Paul was becoming increasingly suspicious, and the investigation into his attempted murder would eventually expose a connection to Anna Lisa’s unsolved killing.
The woman Sheila had spent months discussing with her husband wasn’t simply some character in an elaborate story.
She was a real woman whose life had been taken.
And Sheila Davalloo was ultimately convicted of BOTH crimes.
In one of the most extraordinary moments of the case, Sheila even represented herself during her Connecticut murder trial — meaning she personally cross-examined the husband she had previously tried to kill.
Because apparently, this story wasn’t quite uncomfortable enough already.
Sheila received a 25-year prison sentence in New York for attempting to murder Paul Christos, followed by a 50-year sentence in Connecticut for murdering Anna Lisa Raymundo.
This is the deeply disturbing true story of Sheila Davalloo — a convicted murderer whose elaborate deception, obsessive jealousy and extraordinary double life culminated in the brutal murder of Anna Lisa Raymundo and the attempted murder of her own husband.
A true crime deep dive into the Anna Lisa Raymundo murder investigation, the bizarre blindfolded knife game, the evidence that connected two seemingly separate crimes, Sheila’s courtroom behaviour and the shocking story of a husband who unknowingly spent months listening to his wife discuss the very woman she would be convicted of murdering.
Sheila Davalloo spent months telling her husband a story about another woman. He had no idea he was married to her killer.
