The two sides of Roger Corman are represented with The Terror (1963) and The Little Shop of Horrors (1960). Corman’s Gothic, spooky side is on display in The Terror, an atmospheric horror tale of a French soldier whose encounter with a ghostly woman leads him to a mysterious castle full of dark secrets. The pairing of a youthful Jack Nicholson as the soldier and veteran Boris Karloff as the castle’s owner make The Terror a memorable example of Corman’s mid-sixties Goth period. Though Corman is credited as director, several others took a turn behind the camera, including Nicholson himself, Monte Hellman, and Francis Ford Coppola. Meanwhile,Corman’s more whimsical side is on display in The Little Shop of Horrors. This legendary cult film features a bumbling florist’s assistant who creates a giant plant that happens to crave human blood. The usual Corman stock company is on hand, including Jonathan Haze and Dick Miller, plus a cameo by Nicholson as a dental patient with a high threshold for pain.

Catherine is a deeply troubled woman who picks up two female hitchhikers and then drugs them, tortures them, and subjects them to experiences that they will never be able to forget, that is, if they survive. Rape is a Circle has been out of print for a while, even though it was one of the director’s best-selling movies. One of the reasons for that was because the movie was going to be completely re-filmed. Misty Mundae agreed to play the part of the demented character Catherine. The project was delayed. During that time, almost everything that could go wrong went wrong, and could not get back on track. The original movie was selling for as high as $700 on auction sites. Fans begged for a re-release. Finally, in 2023, the director examined the footage and decided to re-edit the movie for a director’s cut. It is more artistic than the first version. Behind-the-scenes footage and bloopers have been unearthed. The director was reluctant to share bloopers in the past because he feared that this would reduce the tension a viewer felt during the rewatching of the movie. Fans, however, clamored for it, and the director consented.

In Cellar Dweller, a comic book artist (Jeffrey Combs) with a penchant for the macabre takes inspiration from an ancient tome and unleashes an ancient evil. Arena presents the ultimate fight night event: man vs monster! In the far future of 4038, a short order cook becomes the first human in fifty years to compete in an intergalactic boxing event on the far side of the universe. From Hammer Films to Star Wars, he remains one of genre films’ best-loved actors. Now celebrate six of the most unexpected, rarely seen and decidedly curious performances from the legendary career of Peter Cushing.

Cushing delivers a rare villain turn in the 1960 aviation thriller Cone Of Silence. That same year, Cushing brought gentle dignity to The Boulting Brothers’ cold-war drama Suspect. In 1962’s The Man Who Finally Died, Cushing co-stars opposite Stanley Baker as a former Nazi hiding a grave post-war secret. Cushing returns to his iconic role of Sherlock Holmes in these six surviving episodes of the 1968 BBC TV series. The oft-maligned 1971 shocker Bloodsuckers can now be reassessed for the first time in its Restored Extended Version. And Cushing portrays a vampire for the first and only time in 1974’s off-the-wall erotic comedy Tender Dracula, premiering here in its Director’s Cut.
