I saw everything.
They called it, “The Summer of Suicide”. Twenty-nine deaths over the course of a single month, all drownings. The victims shared nothing in common, save for the location and manner in which they met their end. The bodies showed no signs of distress or injury, nor did a single one of them leave a note behind to their loved ones explaining why they had taken such a drastic course.
But I know why they did it. I know why those people answered the call of the sea.
