The 2013 Reboot’s Lone Survivor Took Her Question Straight to the Crowd
Jane Levy is openly testing the waters on a comeback for Mia Allen, the character she played in Fede Álvarez’s 2013 Evil Dead reboot, as first reported by Deadline. Mia is one of the few people in the franchise to walk away from a Deadite outbreak, and Levy brought up her possible return during a Q&A that followed a screening of the film.
Levy simply asked the audience whether Mia should come back, drew a round of applause, and then played it off as nothing more than a quick check. She kept the joke going by suggesting someone should “call Sam’s Skype number right now” to see whether franchise creator Sam Raimi is on board. The moment adds fuel to recent chatter that she could appear in the upcoming Evil Dead Wrath or another future entry, though nothing has been confirmed.
The series began with Raimi’s The Evil Dead in 1981, followed by Evil Dead II in 1987 and Army of Darkness in 1993. Bruce Campbell made a brief appearance as Ash in Álvarez’s film and later headlined the Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead from 2015 to 2018. Since Levy’s turn, Lee Cronin took the franchise into darker territory with 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, and Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead Burn arrived this summer.
Next on the slate is Francis Galluppi’s Evil Dead Wrath, a prequel to the original film set in 1972, which Deadline reports is due April 7, 2028. Longtime producer Robert Tapert has teased it as a significant change of pace for the series.
