In this clip from Dressed to Kill, screenwriter and author David Pirie and Hammer historian Wayne Kinsey trace Michael Carreras’s path from a difficult, sports-obsessed childhood under his father, James, through leaving school at 15 with no qualifications, to landing his first job at Exclusive Films — the company that would lead to Hammer.
It’s a candid look at the man behind so much of Hammer’s history: his complicated relationship with his father, his own marriage to Joe (PA to his grandfather Enrique Carreras), and his famously late nights at Ronnie Scott’s.
