Every night, a mysterious samurai came to collect a blind musician from a Japanese temple. And every night, the musician followed him somewhere he couldn’t see.
Hoichi was a gifted biwa player whose performances could move an audience to tears. So when a powerful lord requested his services, he considered himself fortunate. But the invitations kept coming, and the people listening to his music seemed strangely obsessed with a battle fought centuries earlier.
Then a priest noticed Hoichi disappearing after dark. What he discovered was far more disturbing than he could have imagined.
When the priest tried to protect Hoichi from his mysterious visitors, one seemingly small mistake threatened to turn a supernatural encounter into something horrifying.
This is the story of Hoichi the Earless, one of Japan’s most chilling legends.
