The Undervale’s Ghosts, Demons and One Very Tired Innkeeper Are Sticking Around
Just in time for Halloween weekend, Netflix has handed its animated ghost-filled sitcom another season, with new episodes slated to arrive in 2027. Deadline carried word of the renewal, which lands a few weeks after the second season checked in on the streamer.
The pickup follows a healthy run for the series. Season 2 opened on Netflix’s Global English TV Top 10, while the first season has racked up more than 15 million views since it premiered in September 2025. Created by Rick and Morty veteran Matt Roller, the show centers on a single mom trying to keep the planet’s most haunted hotel running with help from her ghost brother, her two kids, a demon stuck inside a little boy’s body and a steadily growing roster of spirits, monsters and supernatural catastrophes.
Roller sounded more than ready to reopen the doors, teasing that the next batch will be the biggest, funniest, scariest and saddest the show has attempted. Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides and Jimmi Simpson lead the voice cast, and Roller executive produces with Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon and Steve Levy. Erica Hayes returns as supervising director, with Titmouse once again handling the animation.
