In 1962, nine-year-old Frankie Scarlatti enjoys a homespun childhood in a rustic Western New York town. After two bullies lock him in his school cloakroom on Halloween night, he encounters the ghost of a little girl and witnesses the specter of her murder by an unseen assailant.
As Frankie recovers at home, the girl’s ghost appears again, prompting him and his older brother to investigate her death.
