Four New Series Regulars Move In as Ryan Murphy’s Dream-House Nightmare Finally Gets Back to Work
Netflix’s The Watcher has added four new series regulars for its long-awaited second season, with Madelaine Petsch, Evan Adams, Owen Painter and Quintessa Swindell joining the cast, as first reported by Deadline. Cameras are set to roll this fall in New York.
The newcomers will work alongside returning leads Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale, with Margo Martindale and Isabel Gravitt also back as part of the main ensemble. Plot details for the new season have not been revealed, and the roles the four new cast members will play remain under wraps.
The first season dropped in fall 2022 and centered on the Brannock family, whose move into a picture-perfect suburban home turned sour once threatening letters signed by “The Watcher” started showing up and the neighborhood’s ugly secrets began to surface. The show drew from Reeves Wiedeman’s New York Magazine piece “The Haunting of a Dream House.” While Murphy and Brennan’s companion Netflix series Monster has gone on to multiple installments since then, The Watcher sat idle for years, and a 2027 premiere would leave it close to the longest gap between seasons ever recorded for an American series.
Ian Brennan returns as showrunner, while Ryan Murphy executive produces as part of his overall deal at 20th Television. Watts is also among the executive producers, along with Crystle Roberson Dorsey, who directs, and a group that includes Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless.
