It’s all in their heads.
ALEX
In a post-apocalyptic landscape in which everyone you meet is capable of either transforming into a demonic Lovecraftian horror or becoming possessed by an angelic force that turns their eyes into twin jets of purifying flame, being an introvert has its advantages. But Alex might just have to learn to trust someone if she wants to escape from the nightmare she has created for herself. The trouble is, though, that in a world this comfortably predictable, free from the unnecessary stresses of a so-called normal life, why would she want to?
CHLOE
After being attacked by a creep in an underpass—the Button-Eyed Man—Chloe undertook a radical new form of therapy that utilised lucid dreaming to help her overcome her trauma. Now she has become the Oneironaut, using the same technology that healed her to protect dreamers from a terrifying dream parasite she calls a bugaboo. But with a friend so loyal he’ll even protect her from the truth, a revelation is coming that will challenge Chloe’s very sanity—unless Alex can step in to save her from herself.
This collection of the two AloneNotLonely mini-series also includes the story that first introduced Chloe and the Button-Eyed Man to the world, Figments.
AloneNotLonely is part sci-fi and part psychological horror, written and illustrated by Luke Cooper, creator of Hollow Girl and Pumpernickel, and artist on the award-winning GoodCopBadCop and Wolf Country.
