Peter Cushing is horror royalty: Van Helsing, Frankenstein, the Grand Moff himself. But not every role made it into the popular canon.
In this clip from 1971’s Incense for the Damned, Cushing plays Dr. Walter Goodrich, the Provost of Lancaster College, who grows increasingly concerned as Oxford scholar Richard Fountain (Patrick Mower) goes silent during a research trip to Greece.
It’s one of the more obscure entries in Cushing’s filmography, and a rare chance to see him in a role far from the ones he’s best remembered for.
