Before Ridley Scott’s Alien, before decades of “man slowly becomes a monster” horror, there was this: the original 1955 trailer for The Quatermass Xperiment, released in the US as The Creeping Unknown.
The film follows Professor Bernard Quatermass as he races to contain the sole survivor of a doomed rocket mission, a man who’s slowly turning into something no longer human. It’s widely credited with helping define British sci-fi horror for decades to come.
