Pamela Voorhees Is Pulling in Viewers by the Billions of Minutes
Camp Crystal Lake has turned into a ratings win for Peacock. The Friday the 13th prequel series logged 1.3 billion minutes viewed over its first 11 days, according to Nielsen figures, which NBCUniversal says ranks as the fourth-best start ever for a scripted original on the platform, as first reported by Deadline.
Nielsen’s most recent available numbers, which typically lag about two weeks, also had the show at No. 3 among streaming originals and among first-season series for the week of October 19. Online chatter has kept pace, with NBCUniversal’s internal data counting 1.8 billion earned impressions within the first 24 hours and upward of 7.6 million video views across the opening 11 days.
Created by Brad Caleb Kane and produced by A24, the series stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, a single mother still consumed by grief nearly a year after her frail young son, Jason, drowned in the lake. William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom are series regulars, with Callum Vinson among the recurring cast. Michael Lennox directed the first three episodes, and all eight installments dropped on Peacock at once on October 15.
