Ian Tuason’s Found-Footage Reboot Leaves May for a Pre-Halloween Launch
The next Paranormal Activity movie is heading back where the franchise always thrived: late October. Paramount and Blumhouse Atomic are shifting the Ian Tuason-directed entry from a May 21, 2027 date to October 22, 2027, Variety has the details, planting it firmly in the Halloween corridor instead of a summer bow.
Chase Yi, Sonia Mena and Maya Da Costa star in the new chapter. Series creator Oren Peli produces for Solana Films, with James Wan and Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse Atomic; Michael Clear and Judson Scott executive produce. Paramount will handle worldwide distribution on the jointly financed project, which continues a found-footage saga that has grossed more than $900 million across seven features.
The date move landed alongside Paramount’s confirmation that Danny McBride’s G.I. Joe reimagining with Bradley Cooper is set for October 20, 2028. For horror fans, the headline is simpler: overnight camera static and bedroom doors are getting their Halloween slot back.
