The Podcast’s Most Popular Tale Gets Rebuilt One Brick at a Time
Tenderfoot TV is bringing the most popular story from its horror podcast Radio Rental to the screen as Laura of the Woods, a stop-motion short built in a LEGO-inspired style, as first reported by Collider. The full film officially premieres on Tenderfoot TV’s YouTube channel tonight, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. ET.
The short was made in partnership with stop-motion creator Twisted Bricks, and every set and figure in it was crafted by hand. Rather than re-recording the tale, the production builds its visuals around the original audio from the podcast episode, pairing the toy-like look with a story that’s meant to get under your skin.
Radio Rental collects real people’s accounts of frightening, unexplained experiences, framing each episode inside a fictional 1980s video rental shop. The release lands as the series crosses 85 million downloads, making it one of the biggest names in horror podcasting.
