Three Years in the Making, the Film Looks Past the Screams at the Life Behind Them
Deranged Minds Entertainment has spent the last three years filming a feature-length documentary about horror favorite Danielle Harris, as first reported by Variety. The project charts her path from child actor to one of the genre’s most recognizable faces, and it arrives with a first teaser from the production company.
Harris was still a kid when she faced Michael Myers as Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and she returned to the franchise years later in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II. Her résumé also runs through Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, Roseanne and The Wild Thornberrys. The film promises the off-screen story too, including the unsolved car crash that killed her father, the loss of a partner and a close friend, a stalker who followed her for some twenty years, and a pregnancy complication during which her heart stopped.
Directors and producers Destinie Orndoff and Tristan Clay built the film from interviews with Harris, her family, friends and collaborators, mixed with archival material and private home videos. Orndoff said audiences have watched Harris grow up on screen but have “never seen what it cost her,” adding that Harris held nothing back.
The documentary is now in post-production and is planning a festival rollout in 2027. Orndoff and Clay produce with Hayden Todd Wilberger and Jordan Wyant, and the film is still looking for a distributor.
