Rhiannon Lewis has decided to “live her truth,” and that spells trouble for the people of Carnsham. Sky has released the full trailer for Season 2 of Sweetpea, and it premiered over at Deadline.
A Promotion, a Copycat and a Kill List That Keeps Getting Longer
Season 2 picks up after the deadly events of the Season 1 finale. Rhiannon has landed a promotion at the local paper, the Carnsham Gazette, but a copycat killer is now threatening to expose her. With the bodies piling up, she is forced to wonder whether her ex-boyfriend AJ had it right all along: is she a monster?
Purnell is back in the lead, joined by newcomers Rish Shah as love interest Gabriel, Tamsin Greig as AJ’s mother Liv, Taj Atwal as Rhiannon’s formidable new boss Freya and Jenny Walser as new friend Daisy. Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra and Alexandra Dowling all return.
The series is adapted from C.J. Skuse’s novel and produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. Selina Lim takes over as lead writer for Season 2, with Emme Hoy, Anna Jordan and Laura Jayne Tunbridge writing episodes. It launches on Sky in the UK in November, while U.S. fans have to sit tight until early 2027 on Starz.
