This is Jonathan Harker’s first meeting with Count Dracula, from the definitive restoration of one of the most influential horror films ever made. Painstakingly restored in 4K from the best original archival materials sourced from around the world, this new version includes footage believed missing for more than six decades: material deemed too shocking for audiences at the time, previously seen only during the film’s original Japanese theatrical release in 1958, and never released before in full in the UK or US.
Your first official teaser clip is here. A dark staircase, that iconic silhouette and the line that changed horror cinema forever: “I am Dracula, and I welcome you to my house.”
Restored by Hammer Films and Silver Salt Restoration in partnership with Warner Bros, Dracula is back as director Terence Fisher intended.
However many times you’ve seen this classic British horror, you’ve never seen it like this. This is the cut the censors tried to bury.
