Katie and James have the perfect summer planned. A small cabin in the woods, a secluded lake front community, a little time to themselves. But after learning about the town’s history and encountering some of the locals, the couple’s idyllic retreat quickly turns to something neither of them can escape from.
Water Rites is the 2nd feature from Collective Imagination Productions & writer/director, Dean Jacobs. The first, The Trip, became one of Terror Films’ most successful releases of 2024.
The cast reunites Dee Wallace & Michael Berryman alongside another genre favorite, Lynn Lowry (The Crazies, Shivers). And Katy Bentz from Life is Strange plays the lead.
With this Hitchcockian horror/thriller, we’re traveling to a small resort town nestled high in the California mountains. A cabin in the woods, a lake nearby, seclusion. But after our couple begins meeting some of the locals, the darker side of the town and its history start to emerge.
Inspired by films like The Wicker Man, The Shining, Misery and Midsommar, Water Rites gives the audience a classic folk horror story with an unexpected twist.
